What is the Contribution of Development Cooperation to Food Security and Climate Resilience in Zimbabwe?

VERONICA NONHLANHLA JAKARASI (NEE GUNDU) is a Chartered Development Finance Analyst, and Executive Director of the Institute of
Sustainability and Development Finance www.isdf.co.zw. She is the former Head of Climate Finance at Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund, Kenya with
15 years of experience in sustainability, climate finance and diplomacy.
She led the establishment of the Climate Change Department in Zimbabwe and served as Manager of Climate Finance and Sustainability at the Infrastructure Development Bank of Zimbabwe. Veronica is the Lead Negotiator on Mitigation for the African Group of Negotiators under the global climate negotiations.

CLIMATE SMART AGRICULTURE AND/OR AGRO-ECOLOGY: WHAT IS THE BETTER WAY
FORWARD?

With Gertrude Pswarayi-Jabson and Nyasha Makaya

GERTRUDE PSWARAYI-JABSON is Country Coordinator for the Participatory
Ecological Land Use Management (PELUM) Zimbabwe. For the past two
decades she has been working with Civil Society Organisations to raise
consciousness on agro-ecology, food systems, gender, information and
communication technologies and livelihoods on practical and political
intervention level. She is an Earth Jurisprudence practitioner, holds a
MSc. degree in Development Studies and a BSc and a Degree in Journalism
and Media Studies

and

NYASHA MAKAYA IS SCIENTIFIC OFFICER within the Resilient Farm and Food
Systems program at the International Crops Research Institute for
theArid Tropics (ICRISAT) with longstanding experience. He has worked in
programs such as the Livelihoods and Food Security Programme (LFSP) and
the Zimbabwe Resilience Building Fund (ZRBF), and is currently working
under the TAKUNDA project in Masvingo and Manicaland. He holds a Master
of Science (MSc) Degree in Crop Science (Agronomy) from the Midlands
State University.
